NSX Concept Also Makes European Debut
This year's Geneva Motor Show will feature the CR-V Prototype, which signals the direction of Honda's European exterior design and is slated for sale this autumn. Also on display will be the next-generation supercar concept, the NSX Concept, unveiled at the Detroit Motor Show, and the EV-STER, a next-generation electric sports concept model seen as the successor to the Beat, which was discontinued in 1996 but remains highly popular. The NSX Concept, making its European debut, features a lightweight body with a next-generation V6 VTEC engine mounted mid-ship. It is equipped with the "Sport Hybrid SH-AWD" high-efficiency, high-output hybrid system that balances driving performance with fuel economy. The model is scheduled for release in the US within three years, followed by a global rollout including Europe.
Additionally, a cutaway model of a 1.6-liter diesel engine, the lightest in its class and the first of Honda's "Earth Dreams Technology" innovations for Europe that balances environmental performance with driving pleasure, will be exhibited. This diesel engine is scheduled to be installed in the new European-exclusive Civic (5-door) later this year.
