Test drive the Ferrari 12Cilindri in Luxembourg—the refined and sensual duality of a traditional V12

The Latest Cockpit and Evolved V12 Unit

Sinking into the driver's seat reveals an interior based on Ferrari's latest design concept, the "Dual Cockpit Architecture." The upper surface of the instrument panel flows elegantly to the sides, seamlessly merging into the door panels. The symmetrical structure clearly separates the spaces for the driver and passenger, achieving a superb harmony of sportiness and elegance through a delicate combination of colors and materials.

The interface has also undergone significant evolution. In addition to the central 10.25-inch touchscreen and the 15.6-inch driver's display, an 8.8-inch display is also positioned on the passenger side. This is a unique Ferrari touch, allowing the front passenger to participate in the driving experience. In terms of materials, a wide range of sustainable materials are used, including Alcantara, which contains 65% recycled polyester.

Pressing the start button on the steering wheel, the V12 unit quietly awakens. The first impression upon starting to drive is its refined ride feel. While the V12, seated directly in front of the driver, would emit a low growl and assert its presence from the moment of startup in its predecessor, the 812 Superfast, the 12Cilindri exhibits a silence so profound that one can forget the V12's presence during city stop-and-go traffic. The newly developed 8-speed DCT also smoothly handles low-speed shifts, further enhancing this impression.

This refined demeanor is merely one facet of the 12Cilindri's overwhelming potential. The heart of the car, the V12 unit, is the latest version of the F140 series, the "F140HD," which has evolved since the "Enzo" in 2002. While the 6496cc displacement is the same as the 812 Superfast, the adoption of titanium connecting rods, aluminum alloy pistons, and a lightweight crankshaft has increased the maximum output to 830 cv and the maximum engine speed to 9500 rpm. This evolution results in breathtaking performance: 0-100 km/h in 2.9 seconds, 0-200 km/h in 7.9 seconds, and a top speed exceeding 340 km/h.
