Unique Gigafactory Concept

The unveiling of this concept model follows the release of images and specifications in February 2021.
Development of the Fulminea will continue towards a production model.
Regarding the manufacturing of the vehicle body, COO Roberto Olivo explained that they will extensively utilize specialist companies in the Modena region, eliminating the need for a traditional automotive factory.
The plan is to establish a pilot production system by 2022 while simultaneously advancing the development of all-solid-state batteries.
"While we may rely on foreign-made motors for the initial batch, we will not depend on Asian production for batteries," Pizzuto stated emphatically. According to his current estimates, the cost of all-solid-state batteries will reach 3,000 euros per kWh (approximately 400,000 yen). "That's the price of a supercar for the battery alone." However, in terms of weight, it can be halved compared to lithium-ion batteries per kWh. The actual battery weight is expected to be around 300kg.
Production of the 61 units is scheduled to begin in the third quarter of 2023. The plan is to produce approximately 20 units per year for three years.
Regarding funding, Pizzuto mentioned that although he initially gained interest from a French capitalist family and international investment groups, he had to decline because the members did not include Italians. He emphasized that "90% of battery production today relies on Asia." He hinted at his desire to contribute to the development of cutting-edge domestic industries through an Italian-led operation. To that end, he continues to seek investors within Italy.
Beyond that lies the plan to construct a gigafactory for all-solid-state batteries, scheduled for 2025.
He stated that the location would likely be "between Turin and Italy's 'Motor Valley' in Modena, from a logistics perspective."
However, regarding the construction, he stated, "I am opposed to clearing 300 hectares of forest, destroying water sources and ecosystems, as Elon Musk has done."
He hinted that he envisions something more fitting for Italy. Does this mean repurposing old structures, as architect Renzo Piano has often done?
Pizzuto acknowledged, "Of course, I am aware of the various difficulties, such as asbestos removal, involved in utilizing old buildings," but revealed that he is also considering commissioning a renowned architect.
He continued, "I admired the approach of the former Olivetti company. Their factories had ample natural light, a kindergarten was provided for employees, and executives and factory workers ate in the same cafeteria. As an entrepreneur, these are the principles I want to cherish."
