The "Q TIMEX Reissue Digital LCA" faithfully revives the design and functions of a digital-analog watch, making its debut in Japan.

TIMEX is launching the "Q TIMEX Reissue Digital LCA," a faithful reproduction of its 1980s "Q TIMEX" digital-analog watch. Pre-orders begin Friday, July 16, 2021, with general sales starting Friday, July 23, 2021.

A watch that precisely recreates the appearance and functions of the original model.

Two models of the "Q TIMEX Reissue Digital LCA," a revival of the digital-analog watch released by American watch brand Timex in the 1980s, have been released.

In 2020, as part of Timex's REISSUE project to bring its archives into the modern era, an 80s digital-analog watch was selected. The "Q TIMEX Reissue Digital LCA," a faithful reproduction of the original, was first test-launched in the United States. Immediately after its release, it garnered attention for its exceptional quality and unique originality, leading to strong demand from Japanese consumers eager for its launch.

The 1980s was an era that demanded the development of more high-performance watches. Amidst the release of numerous multi-functional watches, such as those with recording capabilities or built-in calculators and dictionaries, Timex introduced digital-analog watches equipped with diverse features like dual time, stopwatch, alarm, and timer functions, achieving popularity for their advanced capabilities and technology. Born from this historical context, the "Q TIMEX Reissue Digital LCA" is a revival model that faithfully reproduces the exterior of the original digital-analog watch and meticulously replicates its functions from that era.

Named "LCA," an acronym for Liquid Crystal Analog, this timepiece accurately replicates the design and layout of its LCD display. Beyond its appearance, the functions also follow the original. The groundbreaking Indiglo® night-light, which Timex first introduced globally in 1992, has been deliberately omitted. Instead, the original model's side-mounted LED light, mimicking the incandescent bulbs of the era, has been recreated to ensure a faithful revival.
