Swiss luxury watchmaker TAG Heuer has unveiled the new TAG Heuer Carrera Chronograph, inspired by the timeless allure of automobiles, drivers, and motor racing. It is a masterpiece timepiece that embodies the world of motor racing, the legends of its drivers, and the passion that has shaped its history.

The new TAG Heuer Carrera Chronograph is a testament to TAG Heuer's craftsmanship, creating timepieces that resonate with those who have reached exceptional heights. The story behind this creation dates back to the early 1970s. At that time, Jack Heuer gifted 18K gold "Heuer Carrera" watches to racing drivers, forging an inseparable bond between TAG Heuer and the world of motorsport. These watches adorned the wrists of legendary drivers like Ronnie Peterson and Niki Lauda amidst the roar of engines and the thrilling intensity of speed, pushing them to break their limits.
Thus, the gold timepiece transcended its role as a mere timekeeping tool, becoming a symbol of achievement, true bravery, and an unwavering commitment to excellence. In homage to that vintage era, the case of this model is crafted from 18K 3N yellow gold. The timeless essence of the Carrera remains, with its classic round case, seamlessly integrated lugs, and user-friendly chronograph pushers at the 2 and 4 o'clock positions. The pushers, in particular, blend vintage charm with a modern aesthetic.
The spirit of the original 1960s design is echoed on the 18K 3N yellow gold-plated dial, which exudes harmonious luxury. To enhance legibility while maintaining the iconic "reverse panda" aesthetic, contrasting black azurage sub-dials are positioned at 3 and 9 o'clock. The black lacquer-finished central hands create a striking contrast against the luxurious gold dial. The vertical satin finish evokes the markings of a race track.
Particularly captivating is the distinctive "glass box" design that envelops the watch's overall beauty. Viewed from the side, the seamlessly curved domed sapphire crystal creates a flowing silhouette, while the taut case sides and robust lugs form a striking profile. This innovative form breathes new life into the 2023 TAG Heuer Carrera collection, enhancing its visual elegance and elevating this timepiece to a central position within the collection. The gracefully curved flange ensures the easy readability of the 60-second/minute track encircling the dial's edge.
This model features an elegant 39mm case housing the in-house TH20-00 chronograph movement. With bidirectional winding and a power reserve of approximately 80 hours, it is a precious item that deepens its connection to the racing-inspired heritage, complemented by a black calfskin strap with punch holes and an 18K 3N yellow gold pin buckle.
