Watches & Wonders 2021 New Release. The Black Bay Fifty-Eight 18K | TUDOR
TUDOR
A new solid gold case with a matte finish, creating a vintage style, now features a green dial.
From the Black Bay Fifty-Eight, the "Black Bay Fifty-Eight 18K," a premium model that marks the first time TUDOR has used solid 18K yellow gold for a dive watch, has been born. The combination of an 18K yellow gold case and bezel with a green dial creates a striking, bold color combination.

Rugged vintage style meets bold color.
The "Fifty-Eight" is named after 1958, the year TUDOR's first diver's watch with a 200-meter water resistance, Ref. 7924, also known as the "Big Crown," was released. The new "Black Bay Fifty-Eight 18K" joins this line. Unlike typical polished finishes, this model features an 18K yellow gold case and open case back with a distinctive satin finish, giving it a matte texture. Its characteristic 1950s proportions, inheriting the beauty of the historic Ref. 7924, will captivate vintage enthusiasts. The case diameter is a moderate 39mm, fitting comfortably even on slimmer wrists.
The matte dial and bezel, exuding understated elegance, are enhanced by a refined "golden green" finish. The combination of "snowflake" hands and hour markers in 18K yellow gold adds a touch of grace. The strap is a dark brown alligator leather, complemented by an included fabric strap in a gold and green colorway, creating a cohesive look for the entire watch.
TUDOR's pioneering adoption of fabric straps in 2010 has made them a distinctive element of the brand. These straps are produced by Julien Faure, a family-run company in Saint-Étienne, France, with over 150 years of history, using 19th-century looms. This unique partnership, which began before the fabric strap was first used for the "Heritage Chrono" in 2010, has fostered exceptional expertise and celebrated its 10th anniversary in 2020.
The Manufacture Caliber MT5400 powering this model features the characteristic finishing found in other TUDOR Manufacture Calibers. The monobloc tungsten rotor is skeletonized and satin-finished with a sandblasted effect. The bridges and mainplate are sandblasted and polished, with laser-engraved decorations. This caliber can be admired through the open case back, embodying TUDOR's commitment to both the robustness of a tool watch and aesthetic design.
In addition to a power reserve of approximately 70 hours, this movement offers robustness, durability, reliability, and precision. It features a variable inertia balance wheel regulated by traversing bridges, a paramagnetic silicon balance spring, and is Swiss officially certified chronometer (COSC). While COSC standards allow for a daily rate of -4 to +6 seconds when the movement is uncased, TUDOR achieves an even more stringent standard of -2 to +4 seconds when assembled in the watch.
