A Watch That Changes Its Hue From Day to Night, Inspired by the World of Batman

Watch brand BEHRENS has unveiled its special limited edition model, "The Dark Knight," at the international watch exhibition "Geneva Watch Days 2024." This timepiece was created to commemorate the 85th anniversary of Warner Bros.' superhero, Batman, and will be produced in a world-limited run of just 200 pieces.

Featuring a Self-Developed Tourbillon Movement

BEHRENS is an independent watch brand founded by young designers, marketers, and micro-engineers, paying homage to Peter Behrens, a pioneer of German industrial design.

Its philosophy of watchmaking is "Non Traditional Design," creating original watches with unique mechanical structures by employing design methods and micro-engineering that overturn conventional watchmaking norms.

The name "The Dark Knight" is derived from the 2018 film of the same name. The movie depicts Batman's fierce battle with his arch-nemesis, the Joker, and the watch's design is deeply infused with the imagery of the work.

This model is a hand-wound wristwatch equipped with BEHRENS' self-developed tourbillon movement, "Cal. BM05." The full-skeleton case allows a view of the movement, maximizing the allure of the tourbillon. Notably, the free-sprung tourbillon mechanism with a carriage shaped like the Batman logo is a key feature, with details inspired by scenes from the film incorporated throughout.

The 38.0mm case was newly designed to commemorate Batman's 85th anniversary. A glove-shaped day/night indicator is positioned at the 9:30 mark. In day mode, the initials "BW" are displayed against a white background, symbolizing Bruce Wayne, Batman's daytime persona.

Conversely, in night mode, the Batman logo shines in gold luminescent paint against a black background, embodying the nocturnal hero. Additionally, a power reserve indicator is located at the 1:30 position, and a date display at 6:00, with only the 27th set in Batman's signature gold color. This design choice is a nod to issue #27 of American comics, where Batman first appeared.

Furthermore, BEHRENS has equipped the watch with a newly developed quick-release system strap, making it easy to attach and detach. Additional straps are included, allowing for style changes to suit various occasions.

"The Dark Knight" is more than just a watch; it's a "work of art" that embodies Batman, a representative character of American comics, in wristwatch form. It's an irresistible timepiece for Batman fans.
