The 2022 New Model of "Sport-Auto," Condensing the Maison's Philosophy of "Simple, Accurate, and Well-Ordered Beauty."
Swiss luxury watch maison Laurent Ferrier has announced its new "Sport-Auto" model for 2022. This timepiece is an homage to the 40th anniversary of the Le Mans 24 Hours endurance race, in which the brand's founding members participated.

A Cushion-Shaped Case Made of Titanium, Inherited from the "Tourbillon Grand Sport."
The "Sport-Auto" is a model that pays homage to the remarkable achievement of three amateur drivers, including Laurent Ferrier, who secured third place overall in the 1979 Le Mans 24 Hours endurance race. Developed and designed with the aspiration to "create the ideal timepiece that can be worn during a race," the "Sport-Auto" has added a new chapter to the history of luxury sports watches with its design and performance.
The new model announced this time features a cushion-shaped case, inheriting the design of the "Tourbillon Grand Sport" released in 2019, and is made of Grade 5 titanium. The form, composed of a bezel and a gently curved tonneau-shaped middle case, is characterized by its sportiness and smooth curves, adhering to Laurent Ferrier's design code. Furthermore, different finishes are applied to each part—a circular satin finish on the bezel, a mirror polish on the case sides, and a vertical satin finish on the middle case—creating a rich texture.
The integrated metal bracelet set on the case emphasizes the polished sides and the vertical satin finish, with polished finishing applied even to the sloped sides of the center links. The dial features a deep and light blue opaline finish, giving it a sporty yet elegant expression. The spear-shaped hands and indices, a signature shape of Laurent Ferrier meaning "Aseggai" (spear), are coated with green Super-LumiNova. The small seconds at 6 o'clock, set lower than the base dial, is accented with powder gray markers.
At its heart lies the newly developed Caliber LF 270.01, an automatic movement that is the maison's second in-house developed and manufactured caliber, and the first to feature a platinum 950 micro-rotor. It uses ball bearings instead of traditional ratchets, offering excellent shock and vibration resistance and a power reserve of over 72 hours.
The "Sport-Auto," which houses the movement that requires over 139 steps of handwork, including chamfering the edges and mirror polishing the surfaces, embodies Laurent Ferrier's philosophy of "simple, accurate, and well-ordered beauty."
