Laurent Ferrier was founded in 2009 by Laurent Ferrier, who spent nearly 40 years as a craftsman at a venerable Swiss watch maison. The timeless and elegant timepieces produced there, unswayed by era or trend, stand out among numerous independent watch brands.

 

 

The anniversary model celebrating 15 years of the brand features a 40mm diameter case, inheriting the graceful curves that symbolize the Classic collection. Its lines possess a smoothness reminiscent of pebbles polished by a flowing river. This model, the first to feature 5N red gold in the Classic Origin line, is characterized by its noble and warm material quality.

 

The dial is a beige color with an opaline finish, accented by a brown railway minute track, a central cross, and hour markers. Legibility, a key focus for Laurent Ferrier, is ensured by the markings, delineated by red numerals that echo the markers on the 6 o'clock sub-dial. At the center of the dial, the brand's signature 18K gold "lance" hands smoothly mark the passage of time.

 

 

 

The crown is ball-shaped, a signature element that embodies the maison's philosophy. Founder Laurent Ferrier designed it with a generous, tactile form, intended to make winding the watch a moment of pleasure rather than a daily chore.

 

Visible through the sapphire crystal case back is the manual-winding Caliber LF116.01 movement. While simpler than movements with complex complications, the finishing of its details adheres to the same high standards.

 

The sandblasted bridges are finished in black rhodium, with each edge hand-polished. In contrast, the mirror-polished screws gleam with a brilliant shine.

 

 

The free-sprung balance with a Breguet overcoil oscillates, ensuring improved precision, reduced positional variation, and regular timekeeping, so that each second passes with the same accuracy.
