TAG Heuer has unveiled the "TAG Heuer Carrera Chronograph 60th Anniversary Edition," a timepiece inspired by the beloved Carrera, limited to just 600 pieces worldwide and highly coveted by collectors.

Introduced by TAG Heuer in 1963, the "Carrera" has been globally recognized for 60 years for its classic, elegant design, exceptionally legible dial, and reliable technology in the realm of watch chronographs.

From motorsport legends like James Hunt in the 1960s and Mick Jagger in the 1970s to modern stars like Ryan Gosling, the Carrera has been a favorite among racing icons and silver screen stars. The Carrera is truly an icon among icons.

To commemorate the 60th anniversary of this enduring masterpiece, the "TAG Heuer Carrera Chronograph 60th Anniversary Edition" has been announced. This model is the first in a series celebrating the Carrera's 60th year, and with a worldwide limited production of 600 pieces, it is indeed a collector's dream.

In preparation for the Carrera's 60th anniversary, TAG Heuer's design and engineering teams chose to revisit one of the most collectible vintage Carrera models: reference 2447SN, released in the late 1960s.

The first generation of Carrera models featured manual-winding Valjoux chronograph movements and came in various designs, including silver or black dials with an added minute track on the periphery. The second series, introduced in the late 1960s, featured silver dials with black sub-dials, or vice versa, known respectively as "Panda" and "Reverse Panda" configurations.

This tribute focuses on the "2447SN," widely regarded as a masterpiece among the Panda models. The color scheme of the "2447SN" has been faithfully reproduced, including the black stripes on the central hands and hour markers, the double stop at 12 o'clock, and the high-contrast white indices on the black counters.

The silver sunray-finished dial features the vintage "Heuer" logo in its original position, with the "Carrera" name above it. The 6 o'clock sub-dial also bears the "Swiss" inscription, signifying its status as a Swiss-made timepiece.

Additionally, the 60-minute and 12-hour counters are reversed compared to the original, and while the original watch indicated radioactive tritium with a "T" on the dial, the new model utilizes modern Super-LumiNova.

The 39mm polished stainless steel case is crowned with a raised "glass box" sapphire crystal. Details such as vintage pushers, beige luminous paint, and a slim tension ring on the dial's outer edge further enhance the retro aesthetic.

The case back is engraved with the watch's serial number, XXX/600, and indicates water resistance up to 100 meters (10 bar). Completing the ensemble is a black calfskin racing strap with a perforated finish and a pin buckle.

This piece strongly evokes a connection to its vintage predecessors. It is a watch imbued with the Maison's passion and meticulous craftsmanship, destined to become a special timepiece for true Heuer aficionados and collectors.
