Rado's High-Tech Ceramic: Strength Meets Gentleness

First introduced in 1983, the Anatom garnered acclaim for its futuristic design, setting a new trend in the watch industry. The 2023 relaunch brought renewed attention to its exceptional aesthetic qualities.
The new collection retains the innovative design while introducing further updates. Notably, while the previous iteration featured a black matte high-tech ceramic bezel and rubber strap, the latest models incorporate a polished high-tech ceramic bracelet.
Rado first unveiled high-tech ceramic in 1986. Its tactile feel, durability, scratch resistance, and lightweight wear set it apart from conventional ceramics, representing a true product of advanced science. Refined through Rado's cutting-edge technology, high-tech ceramic is created by mixing mineral powder with a plastic carrier medium, injecting it into precision molds under approximately 1,000 bar of pressure. After cooling, the components are removed from the molds, the binder is dissolved through a chemical dissolution process, and finally, they undergo final sintering at 1,450°C. This meticulous sintering process yields high-tech ceramic with a density and hardness far exceeding that of ordinary ceramics.
Despite its robust appearance and corresponding durability, a remarkable aspect of high-tech ceramic is its skin-friendly, silky-smooth feel. This material quickly adapts to body temperature, ensuring a comfortable fit so unobtrusive you might forget you're wearing it. The integration of the high-tech ceramic bracelet further enhances this unified design and smooth, pleasant wearing experience.
The sapphire crystal molding technique, also featured in the original Anatom, has been preserved. In the new models, a cylindrical sapphire crystal is integrated into the case, radiating a beautiful luster.
The case size remains consistent with the 2023 relaunch, designed to integrate seamlessly with the bracelet's width for a more natural fit on the wrist. Chamfered edges on the bezel and bracelet links add a sculpted, detailed finish.
The watches are powered by the automatic Rado Caliber R766 movement, offering a power reserve of up to 72 hours. Key features include a Nivachron™ anti-magnetic balance spring and a date display at 6 o'clock. While the original model used a quartz movement, this iteration marks an evolution to a mechanical caliber.
The new Anatom collection comprises five models, each refined with Rado's signature material expertise and ergonomic design.
Ref. no. R10201152 and Ref. no. R10200152 feature a polished black high-tech ceramic bezel and bracelet, a black ceramic crown, and a black lacquer dial adorned with irregular horizontal lines. The hands, indices, Rado's signature moving anchor symbol, and bracelet connecting links are available in steel or yellow gold finishes.
Ref. no. R10203102 presents a sleek counterpart with a polished plasma high-tech ceramic bezel, bracelet, and crown, paired with a grey lacquer dial. These three models exemplify Rado's pride in reviving the original's superior design for the contemporary era.
Additionally, two Jubilé models are offered, embellished with diamonds. Both feature a polished black high-tech ceramic bezel and bracelet, a black ceramic crown, and a black lacquer dial.
Ref. no. R10201712 stands out with its minimalist dial, featuring three diamond indices at the 12, 3, and 9 o'clock positions. Rhodium-colored hands complement the all-black timepiece, evoking the image of stars twinkling in a clear night sky.
Ref. no. R10204712 also displays three diamond indices on the dial, accompanied by matte black printed hour markers. The case is enhanced with 38 diamonds on polished stainless steel end pieces, and a further 124 diamonds adorn the first four connecting links of the bracelet.
This new Anatom collection, while honoring the minimalist beauty and innovation of the original, has been updated for the modern age. It transcends being merely a watch, standing as an art piece where sophisticated design meets cutting-edge material technology, symbolizing Rado's ongoing evolution and future.
