Limited to 999 pieces, the "BR 03-92 H.U.D" expresses a head-up display, born from Bell & Ross's expertise in aviation instruments.
EDITOR’S EYE
I haven't seen the actual watch yet, but I'm very intrigued.
The "out-there" (excuse the expression) concept of representing an aviation instrument display is incredible!
The green neon color sharpens the look on the wrist. It's a watch for grown-ups.
Bell & Ross, known for its professional aviation watches, has released the "BR 03-92 H.U.D," a military watch inspired by the flight displays of modern fighter jets, in a limited edition of 999 pieces.

Recreating the H.U.D Display with a Three-Layer Structure
Bell & Ross's signature Instrument Collection is designed with four core principles: legibility, functionality, precision, and water resistance, drawing inspiration from the critical navigation tools found on aircraft instrument panels. Further exploring its expertise in aviation instruments, Bell & Ross introduced the "BR03-92 H.U.D" in 2020, a watch inspired by fighter jet flight displays, embodying continuous innovation and functionality.
The head-up display, also known by the acronym H.U.D., projects all essential information onto a transparent glass screen, allowing pilots to concentrate on the situation ahead while flying. It ensures excellent visibility and accurate guidance day or night. While primarily used in military aviation since the 1950s, it is now also adopted in commercial airliners and the automotive industry.
The design of this timepiece retains the iconic "circle within a square" case that characterizes cockpit instruments, while incorporating the H.U.D display's design methodology into the dial. Under the concept of "augmented reality" and true H.U.D aesthetics, a three-layer disc structure creates a sense of depth.
On the uppermost layer, green-tinted sapphire crystal, utilizing the disc dial and glass surface, replicates the digital display of the H.U.D. Furthermore, four brackets printed on the back of the glass represent the four corners framing the view found in actual H.U.D.s. The lowest disc displays the time with a triangular green marker.
These exceptionally lightweight discs are engineered not to compromise the watch's inherent accuracy and power reserve, while ensuring sufficient strength to prevent friction or deformation. The center displays minutes and seconds using black and green hands. The base of the hands is intentionally designed to be hidden, echoing the digital display and prioritizing the legibility required for genuine aviation instruments.
To closely emulate the graphic displays of actual instruments, green is used throughout. The dial's green evokes the H.U.D.'s computer-like display, creating a striking contrast with the matte black background that minimizes reflections. The indices, triangular hour markers, minute track, and hands are all coated with Super-LumiNova® C3, emitting a strong green glow. The combination of green-tinted sapphire glass and the green display further enhances the luminescence, ensuring exceptional legibility on the dial while faithfully recreating the H.U.D's digital interface.
