A New Creation Extending Creativity and Innovation: The "BR-X5 GREEN LUM" Released in a Limited Edition of 500 Pieces
Since its debut in 2017, the Bell & Ross LUM collection, which continuously evolves to pursue high legibility, has welcomed its latest addition, the "BR-X5 GREEN LUM." This is a precious model, limited to 500 pieces, that merges the "BR 05" series' top-tier "BR-X5" with the innovative luminescent composite material LM3D.
The Fusion of Innovative Luminescent Composite Material LM3D and a High-End Model
In Bell & Ross's watchmaking, which draws inspiration from aviation instruments, legibility is paramount to all design concepts. Among Bell & Ross watches, renowned for their superior legibility day and night, the new "BR-X5 GREEN LUM" joins the LUM collection, which has explored the potential of luminescence. This model achieves a new level by using the innovative luminescent composite material LM3D as the case material for the high-end "BR-X5" model of the "BR 05" series, allowing the entire case to glow in the dark.
While all Bell & Ross watches are easily readable even in the dark, some models have evolved further, incorporating bold luminescence for easy readability in darkness. Since their introduction in 2017, these have been released annually as the LUM collection. Now, this LUM collection marks a new chapter with the "BR-X5," the highest-ranking model in the "BR 05" series—which inherits the tradition of aviation technology and the brand's iconic "circle within a square" visual identity—in terms of design, style, and technical features.
Equipped with the prestigious Manufacture movement, Calibre BR-CAL.323, designed by Kenissi, it boasts high precision and approximately 70 hours of power reserve. The multi-layered case was born from the pursuit of purity, sharpness, resistance, and lightness. The new "BR-X5 GREEN LUM" aims to complete this high-end line with a desire for innovation not only in design but also in concept.
Previously, Bell & Ross achieved its luminescence concept by using Super-LumiNova on the hands, numerals, indices, and dial. However, this model reaches a new frontier, with the entire case glowing in the dark, achieved through the specially developed luminescent composite material LM3D. The case, cut from a block of Grade 2 titanium with DLC coating, is sandwiched between two shields made of LM3D, a luminescent composite material crafted from quartz fibers that diffuse a powerful green glow. This causes the entire case to illuminate in the dark, highlighting the time, minute, second, date, and power reserve indications on the dial.
Furthermore, a key feature of this multi-component case is its exceptional lightness. This limited edition of 500 "BR-X5 GREEN LUM" pieces can be considered a watch that has reached the realm of unique, conceptual art.
