Limited Edition Chronograph Inspired by Motorcycle Instruments
From Bell & Ross, a brand dedicated to the fusion of design and technology, comes the new "BR 03-94 BLACKTRACK," a limited edition of 500 pieces. This timepiece draws its inspiration from the "BT-06" motorcycle, a collaboration between Bell & Ross and the brand led by Sasha Lakic. The result is a powerful and stylish watch that feels like a fusion of two machines.
A New Instrument Watch Evolved from an Original Machine
Bell & Ross, known for its deep ties to the aviation industry, ventured into the motorcycle realm in 2011 with the development of the distinctive "Nascafe Racer Bell & Ross" in collaboration with Shaw Harley-Davidson. In 2023, the "BR 03-94 BLACKTRACK" was announced as the latest creation in this lineage.
This timepiece is a joint development between Bell & Ross and product designer Sasha Lakic. Sasha Lakic, who has demonstrated his talent across diverse fields including furniture, automobiles, and motorcycles, established his own brand, "Blacktrack," in 2016. The design concept for the "BT-06," Blacktrack's new motorcycle, was inspired by stealth fighter jets, aiming to create a machine with both flat and angular surfaces.
The "BR 03-94," reminiscent of aircraft cockpit instruments, serves as the base, with the "BT-06" design boldly adapted. The unique appearance of the 42mm faceted ceramic case is directly influenced by the "BT-06" motorcycle and the technical design of stealth fighter jets. The quilted black calfskin strap, edged in red, is inspired by motorcycle seat covers and rider suits. It is secured with a black PVD-coated stainless steel pin buckle, lined with a highly durable technical material.
The dial of the innovative and unconventional "BR 03-94 BLACKTRACK" evokes a dashboard. While Bell & Ross is renowned for incorporating high-precision aviation instruments into its watch designs, this chronograph's sub-dials mark the first time a special design inspired by motorcycle handlebar instruments has been adopted. The red hand of the 30-minute counter ensures excellent legibility.
The bezel's faceted design creates a bold octagon when viewed from above. The dial, unified in dark tones, presents an elegant contrast between gray and black, with the numerals serving as exquisite accents. A lattice-like openwork pattern adds a sense of depth, allowing all information to be easily read thanks to its excellent legibility. The flange and indices are meticulously crafted with numerals, and both the indices and the skeletonized hands are coated with Super-LumiNova®. This watch, symbolizing the enduring connection between Bell & Ross and motorcycles, can even be mounted on a motorcycle's console, truly realizing the fusion of two machines.
The appeal of the "BR 03-94 BLACKTRACK" lies not only in its refined and beautiful exterior but, above all, in its high precision, legibility, functionality, and reliability. The pursuit of performance and dependability was at the core of this collaboration, leading to the integration of the stable automatic BR-CAL. 301 movement. The meticulously finished caliber boasts a 42-hour power reserve and displays hours, minutes, seconds, and the date, in addition to its chronograph functions. This perfectly echoes the 1200cc performance that powers Blacktrack's motorcycles, resulting in an innovative watch that brilliantly fuses efficiency and individuality.
