A New Model Symbolizing Partnership with a Marine Conservation Organization

OMEGA has announced the new Seamaster Diver 300M Nekton Edition, from its iconic Seamaster collection of divers’ watches. This model symbolizes the partnership between OMEGA, which has deep ties to the marine world, and the marine conservation organization Nekton.

Announcing the 2020 New Model: Seamaster Diver 300M Nekton Edition | OMEGA

OMEGA is a partner of Nekton, a non-profit research organization dedicated to marine conservation and management worldwide, and has strongly supported their activities. Now, the Seamaster Diver 300M Nekton Edition has been announced as a timepiece symbolizing this partnership.

This model is available in two versions: one with a stainless steel bracelet that lends an elegant air to the watch, and another with an integrated black rubber strap that matches the dial.

The watch features a matte-finished black ceramic (ZrO2) dial with a wave motif created using sophisticated laser ablation for a "positive relief" effect, and a Grade 5 titanium unidirectional rotating bezel, also with a "positive relief" diving scale.

The case back features a unique design exclusive to this model, engraved with Nekton's submersible "Sea Seeker 2" as a tribute to Nekton's dedicated activities, in addition to the words "NAIADLOCK" and "DIVER 300M." This research submersible pays homage to the "Sea Seeker," captained by the late Sir Peter Blake, a legendary yachtsman who completed a circumnavigation of the globe, a passionate advocate for marine conservation, and a good friend of OMEGA.

The movement is the Master Chronometer Calibre 8806, which has passed the Swiss Federal Institute of Metrology (METAS) Master Chronometer certification and boasts magnetic resistance of 15,000 gauss. This movement features a rotor and bridges with a beautiful Arabesque finish and rhodium-plating.
