Introducing the latest commemorative piece from TAG Heuer's "Monaco," celebrating its 40th anniversary this year.

TAG Heuer Monaco at 40: Introducing the Commemorative New Releases

This year, 2009, marks the 40th anniversary of the TAG Heuer Monaco, a cornerstone of the brand's watchmaking. To commemorate this milestone, a reissue has been launched, adding a new model to the collection.
Among the Monaco models, the original is considered to be the Blue Monaco, with its vibrant red chronograph hands and metallic blue dial. Born in an era when round chronographs dominated, this innovative square case, three-dimensional domed crystal, and the "Chronomatic Calibre 11"—the world's first automatic chronograph equipped with a microrotor—caused a sensation upon its announcement in 1969.

This particular Monaco is also known for being a favorite of Steve McQueen. After being introduced to the watch by racer Jo Siffert, McQueen became so fond of it that he wore it while filming the movie 'Le Mans'.
The reissue model, launched in July this year, evokes the spirit of McQueen's era. It features the Calibre 11 movement with the crown at 9 o'clock, and the dial bears the logo of "HEUER," TAG Heuer's predecessor.

In addition to this world-limited edition of 1,000 pieces, new models equipped with the Calibre 12 are also being introduced. Furthermore, the "Monaco Grand Date," previously distinguished by its brown python or white alligator straps, will also join the collection, promising a remarkably rich lineup.
Celebrating its 40th anniversary, the Monaco is reborn with new iterations. Which Monaco will you choose from this abundant collection?
