Backes & Strauss: Crafting timepieces dedicated to diamonds.
Bax & Strus, Crafting Timepieces Focused on Diamonds
The premier gemstone adorning jewelry watches can undoubtedly be called the diamond. While designs for women are abundant, the variety of diamond watches for men has also been increasing in recent years. Among these, Bax & Strus is a company that creates timepieces with diamonds as their theme. Let's explore the allure of these diamond watches from a company that has specialized in diamonds for many years.

Diamond Watches That Captivate Men

The diamond company Bax & Strus was founded in London in 1789.
I once saw a man subtly wearing a jewelry watch. While it was partly due to his overall style, the way he wore it with such ease struck me as particularly sophisticated. It was slightly different from the assertive style of jewelry; I recall feeling as if I were glimpsing a part of his very being.
For both men and women, when it comes to jewelry watches, those adorned with diamonds are surely at the forefront. While brilliant diamonds are often associated with romance and rarity, this gemstone, even in its uncut form, has adorned many men throughout history, sometimes as a protective amulet, other times as a symbol of loyalty, status, and authority.
Perhaps because there's a stronger perception today that they are primarily for women, many men feel comfortable wearing watches, and their designs have become increasingly diverse. The watches introduced here, in particular, are diamond watches that pursue the intrinsic beauty of the diamond itself.
When you pick up a Bax & Strus diamond watch, you'll notice the case is remarkably large and curved. This design, which bulges towards the center of the dial, is calculated to allow light to reach all the diamonds surrounding the bezel. Bax & Strus, the originator of these timepieces, was originally a London-based supplier from whom Franck Muller purchased gems for his own jewelry watches. Founded in 1789, with a work exhibited at the first World Expo still housed in the British Museum, this venerable establishment began a joint venture with FRANCK MULLER WATCHLAND two years ago, marking the occasion to start producing watches under its own name.

The "Heart & Arrow" revealed by the "Ideal Cut" on Bax & Strus watches
A Unique Manufacturing Philosophy Centered on "Gemstones"
Given that the company's origins lie in diamond specialization, the core of their watchmaking philosophy remains firmly rooted in "diamonds." Their manufacturing theme is not "diamonds for watches," but rather "watches for diamonds." The case design mentioned earlier is a result of this principle, and the company's meticulous attention to detail is evident even in the cutting of the diamonds adorning the watch. The "Heart & Arrow" ideal cut, featuring 58 facets, reveals eight arrows from the top crown surface and eight hearts from the bottom pavilion surface, each sparkling like a kaleidoscope. The stone setting is designed to accentuate the upper facets, ensuring that the contrast and light reflection are maximized, all while maintaining a smooth, snag-free finish.

Quality, cutting, and setting. Bax & Strus continues to craft timepieces that enhance the brilliance of diamonds, attracting not only watch enthusiasts but also "diamond connoisseurs" among their clientele, both male and female. Their sparkle, befitting fine jewelry, is indeed vibrant and truly sings the soul of the gemstone itself. Diamonds, which have captivated hearts for ages as protective talismans and symbols of self-affirmation, offer their allure once more, this time in the form of a watch to accompany you through daily life. Why not experience it?
