Maison's Icons Merge with Japanese Traditions and Seasons

The "Tambour Spin Time" is a unique watch that displays time using 12 rotating cubes instead of an hour hand, with two adjacent cubes instantly rotating to show the hour every 60 minutes. This technically sophisticated yet playful time display method is powered by a movement developed and patented in 2009.
This automatic movement, realized through a groundbreaking concept, was born from the ingenuity of skilled artisans at the "La Fabrique du Temps Louis Vuitton" watchmaking atelier. In 2019, it evolved further, culminating in the Caliber LV88 with a 35-hour power reserve, giving birth to the "Tambour Spin Time Air." The dial is designed so that the time displayed by the cubes appears to float in mid-air.
And in 2020, two special Japan-exclusive models inspired by traditional Japanese patterns and seasons were introduced. The 18KWG model features a design based on "Seigaiha," a pattern that originated in ancient Persia, arrived in Japan via the Silk Road during the Asuka period, and has been passed down as a uniquely Japanese motif. It depicts the way small waves spread out into a vast ocean, rendered in beautiful shades of blue with varying depths of color. The boundless wave pattern embodies wishes for "eternal happiness" and "peaceful lives" for the people. Furthermore, the Maison's 12-letter alphabet is arranged on each rotating cube, with the yellow-colored letter indicating the hour.
The 18KPG model, adorned with diamonds and colorful stones on the lugs and case, features a dial that fuses the Maison's iconic Monogram Flowers with motifs representing Japanese seasons, such as flowers, fireflies, autumn leaves, and snowflakes. Twelve motifs are depicted in rich colors, and the hour-indicating cubes rotate as if marking the passage of seasons.
