A New Era for Tambour, Forged by the Atelier's Strength

The "Tambour," Louis Vuitton's signature watch, was born in 2002. Twenty-one years later, in 2023, the "Tambour" reached a major turning point. With sculptural, flowing lines and a slimmer form, it proved that elegance and high functionality could coexist.
The newly created "Tambour Convergence" honors its tradition while adding further interpretation, symbolizing the cutting edge of Louis Vuitton's watchmaking expertise.
This piece was crafted in the Louis Vuitton atelier in Geneva, with the collaboration of La Fabrique du Temps for movement design, La Fabrique des Boîtiers for case manufacturing, and La Fabrique des Arts for its rare artisanal techniques, all unified by a cohesive aesthetic language. The "Tambour Convergence" born from these ateliers is truly a crystallization of craftsmanship, a watch meticulously detailed.
The "Convergence" in the collection's name signifies the fusion of craftsmanship nurtured within Louis Vuitton, while also symbolizing the distinctive time display of this model. Time is shown by two rotating discs, intuitively read by diamond-shaped markers in gold or platinum.
The shape of the window surrounding the time display is inspired by the ephemerality of natural phenomena and the decorative arabesque patterns found in the Louis Vuitton family residence in Asnières. The case features elegantly curved sides, designed for a comfortable fit on the wrist. This design is the result of a harmonious blend of a slim profile and a robust internal structure.
The redesigned lugs, distinct from the current "Tambour" collection, emphasize a geometric profile, exuding a presence that heralds a new era. The top surfaces of the lugs are hand-polished, while the sides feature micro-sandblasting, enhancing visual sophistication.
The pursuit of elegance is also evident in the dial design. The platinum model features a satin-silver finished disc with blue numerals in transfer print, and its precious plate is set with 795 diamonds using the snow-setting technique. This technique, by artfully arranging diamonds of varying sizes, creates an effect that further enhances the play of light.
The gold model, on the other hand, possesses a unique characteristic that develops its patina over time. Its surface, which gradually changes with use, allows the owner to enjoy the watch's evolution as a testament to their personal story and the time spent with it.
Housed within a slim 37mm diameter, 8mm thick case is the in-house automatic caliber LFT MA01.01. This movement, with a 45-hour power reserve, is designed for simple timekeeping yet meets high standards of accuracy and reliability. The balance wheel oscillates at the industry standard of 4Hz (28,800 vph), and a high-inertia 18K rose gold rotor efficiently winds the mainspring.

The intricate finishing of the movement is another charm of the "Tambour Convergence." The micro-sandblasted bridges, the V-shaped cutouts on the edge of the rose gold rotor, and the transparent sapphire crystal all symbolize the watch's contemporary appeal and technical sophistication.
The "Tambour Convergence" upholds Louis Vuitton's watchmaking tradition while forging a new path for the future. This watch, integrating the technical precision of its movement with the aesthetic beauty of its exterior, is a timepiece that embodies modern elegance.
