A Dance of Sun and Moon

Among mechanical ladies' watches, the supreme collection that has reached the pinnacle of elegance and mechanical complexity isBreguet’s “Queen of Naples.” This elegant and beautiful egg-shaped collection, which also includes sonnerie models, has been joined this year byBaselby a new complication model, the “Queen of Naples ‘Day/Night’ 8998.”

At the bottom of the egg-shaped dial are the blued steel hour and minute hands and markers indicating the time. Above them are a moon, created with engraving on titanium, and a balance wheel, representing the sun, which complete a full 24-hour rotation. The sun elegantly rotates around the dial, passing over bridges that also serve as markers for the time.

The sky portion of the dial is made of lapis lazuli, with clouds depicted in mother-of-pearl and stars rendered in gold. This is the kind of meticulous detail befitting the “Queen of Naples” collection.

Enhancing these are delicate guilloché engraving on the fine details, and a total of 143 brilliant-cut diamonds adorning the outer dial and the bezel of the case. This is an artistic masterpiece that allows you to elegantly enjoy the celestial movements on your wrist.
