BLANCPAIN | Featuring Both Carousel and Tourbillon Complications
Le Brassus Tourbillon Carrousel
A First in Watchmaking History
Featuring Both Carrousel and Tourbillon
The "Tourbillon" and the "Carrousel," two major mechanisms designed to mitigate the effects of gravity on the movement. Blancpainhas developed a model that combines these two regulators for the first time in watchmaking history, unveiling the "Le Brassus Tourbillon Carrousel."

The Essence of the Manufacture
The "Carrousel" (French for carousel) is a complex mechanism that, like the Tourbillon, constantly rotates the escapement to enhance accuracy by counteracting positional variations caused by Earth's gravity when worn on the wrist.
Unlike the Tourbillon, which places the escapement in a cage that rotates, the Carrousel sets the escapement on a plate for rotation, giving it its name. In 2008, Blancpain succeeded in reviving this mechanism, thanks to watchmaker Vincent Calabrese.
This model features a flying tourbillon at 12 o'clock and a flying carrousel at 6 o'clock, connected by three differential gears for averaging. By driving the watch's gear train in this manner, it achieves remarkable precision for a mechanical wristwatch. This double complication model, pursuing timekeeping accuracy, is sure to capture the attention of watch enthusiasts.
