Official Timekeeper for Rakuten Open Japan Again This Year
Since last year, 2012, RADO has served as the official timekeeper for tennis tournaments held around the world. This time, Shingo Kunieda, a wheelchair tennis player, has been chosen as a RADO Friend in Japan.
Kunieda, one of today's most brilliant athletes, is drawing attention, beginning with his gold medal at last year's London Paralympics, followed by 18 Grand Slam singles titles, and a victory at the Australian Open this year. He has secured his position as world No. 1 in wheelchair tennis, solidifying his status.
He has also been appointed an ambassador for the Tokyo Olympics bid in 2020 and is expected to play a crucial role in connecting RADO and sports in many capacities going forward as a star player.
RADO continues to pursue innovative challenges. This year, in addition to official timekeeping, the brand will also provide venue support at the Rakuten Open Japan, held from Monday, September 30th to Sunday, October 6th.
Furthermore, RADO has appointed Andy Murray, ranked second in the world, and Julia Görges, a rising star in women's tennis, as RADO tennis ambassadors worldwide.
