TAG Heuer: A New Concept in Ultra-Lightweight Design
So light, you'll forget you're wearing it
Introducing the Carrera Carbon 1887 Concept Chronograph
To commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Carrera's debut, TAG Heuer has unveiled a concept watch, the Carrera Carbon 1887 Concept,Chronographfeaturing groundbreaking new technology. This ultra-light model is the brand's first to utilize a case made from a new carbon-based material.

The case alone weighs just 19g
This is TAG Heuer's first automatic chronograph to incorporate an ultra-thin, ultra-light carbon fiber composite material for the case, case back, bezel, and lugs. The design follows the "pull-head" style, with the crown and pushers positioned on the top of the case, directly descended from the "Micrograph," capable of ultra-precise chronograph measurements.
The manufacturing method for the case is essentially the same as for F1 car parts. It involves layering ultra-thin, 0.007mm-thick reinforced fibers of a polyamide-based material into a three-dimensional structure, which is then heated in an autoclave. Through a chemical reaction, each layer condenses and integrates to form the finished product.
Excluding the strap and the sapphire crystal of the see-through case back, the entire watch weighs an astonishingly light 19g, while also being incredibly strong and robust. The dial is also made from carbon fiber. The movement is essentially the same as the "Carrera 1887 Chronograph" developed in-house by TAG Heuer in 2011. Early product release is highly anticipated.
