A Tribute to Women Who Cherish Beauty

Wristwatches are items that not only tell time but also embody one's individuality. The origins of these timepieces that adorn our daily lives trace back 200 years to a creation by watchmaker Abraham-Louis Breguet, commissioned by Caroline Murat, Napoleon's sister and the Queen of Naples.

The timepiece, recorded as "No. 2639" in Abraham-Louis Breguet's ledgers, symbolized the future of Breguet's watchmaking. According to records, it featured an oval case, a thermometer, and a bracelet made from a blend of hair and gold threads, designed to be worn on the wrist.

Sadly, this original piece no longer exists, and its whereabouts remain unknown. To revive this heritage for the modern era, Breguet drew inspiration from the original information to design a new collection. In 2002, the "Reine de Naples" collection was launched as a new line for ladies. The collection's distinctive egg-shaped case with elegant curves and the intricate mechanical complications, such as the moon phase indicator, exude a graceful charm that defines the watches' character. It has since become one of the brand's most beloved and representative series.
