A Premium Feel, Like a One-of-a-Kind Piece, with Unique Texture for Each Watch

The profession of "storm chaser" is not widely known in Japan. Their objectives vary, from collecting academic data to capturing dramatic footage of nature's awesome power, as they track storms.

In 2014, BALL WATCH developed the "Stormchaser Pro," a professional chronograph with a telemeter, for these individuals. This model's high legibility and refined design have also gained popularity in Japan.

The new Japan-exclusive model, featuring a mother-of-pearl dial, is an original design for the Japanese market, inspired by the image of a resolute Japanese man and the clear skies after a storm. Mother-of-pearl, the material used, has a unique texture for each individual piece, offering a premium feel akin to owning a one-of-a-kind item.

It is equipped with 5,000Gs shock resistance and self-powered micro gas lights. Micro gas lights refer to small glass tubes (capsules) attached to the dial and hands of BALL WATCH timepieces. Fluorescent paint is applied to the inside of these tubes, and tritium gas is sealed within, allowing them to interact and emit light.

Currently, most luminous paints used in watches, such as "Super-LumiNova," are phosphorescent, meaning their luminosity gradually decreases over time. However, "micro gas lights" do not require charging and continue to emit light day and night.

Compared to conventional tritium-based luminous paints, they emit light up to 70 times brighter and continue to glow for over 10 years.
