The birth of Franck Muller's signature "Cintrée Curvex" predates the brand's founding in 1992 by about five years. At the time, the 28-year-old Franck Muller was immersed in creating "world-first" complications.

Then, one day, he received a request from the wife of a close collector: “A watch with your own design, not a round one…” Faced with the challenge of creating something beyond even world-first complications, Franck Muller set a new goal: to achieve a "world-first" in form as well. Thus, the Cintrée Curvex was born, featuring a three-dimensional curve that seemed to be carved from a sphere.

Furthermore, the very first Cintrée Curvex he presented to the woman was equipped with a perpetual calendar that marks eternal time and a minute repeater that transforms time into sound. The delicate, slender form of this debut piece, the beauty of its radially distorted Arabic numerals, and its fresh, budding-flower-like charm possess an eternal beauty that remains unfaded through the ages.
