From the Jaquet Droz Ateliers d’Art, three new models in the "Petite Heure Minute Black Enamel" collection emerge. The black enamel dials, adorned with vividly depicted creatures, invite you on an exotic journey.

Art Pieces, Each Limited to Just 28 Worldwide

New creations for 2017 have been born from the "Ateliers d’Art" within the Jaquet Droz headquarters, a place where historical techniques are passed down to forge innovative beauty.

The motifs for these timepieces are the majestic and vibrant African lion, the Caribbean flamingo, and the Asian carp. Using miniature painting, a craft born in La Chaux-de-Fonds, Switzerland—the very birthplace of Jaquet Droz—master artisans have brought these three timepieces to life.

Black enamel, fired at high temperatures, is used to make the miniature paintings stand out with exquisite beauty and brilliance.

The "Ateliers d’Art" is home to artisans including miniature painters, engravers, and enamellers who have, throughout the ages, masterfully played with contrast, merging ancient traditions with contemporary aesthetics.

The king of beasts, the lion, encased in a 43mm red gold case, displays a noble profile adorned with a rich mane of brown,

black, and red fur. In contrast, the Caribbean flamingo model features a 39mm red gold case set with 248 brilliant-cut diamonds totaling 1.74 carats, highlighting the flamingo's elegant splendor.

The model depicting the carp shows the fish swimming among reeds and lotus flowers within the 39mm case. This carp motif evokes the Western fascination with the Far East that flourished in the 18th century, during the lifetime of Pierre-Jaquet Droz, the brand's founder.

These timepieces are works of art that seem ready to spring to life. They are powered by an automatic movement with a 68-hour power reserve, and each watch comes with a certificate of authenticity from the "Ateliers d’Art" that created it. Production is limited to just 28 pieces worldwide for each model.
