Jaquet Droz presents the "Bird Repeater," a timepiece that merges automata and a minute repeater, embodying the Maison's full technical prowess. Released in a limited edition of 8 pieces worldwide, it commemorates the 300th anniversary of founder Pierre Jaquet-Droz's birth.

Jaquet Droz unveils the "Bird Repeater," a new creation that follows in the lineage of its automata watches introduced in 2012. The dial, adorned with white mother-of-pearl and black onyx, features hand-engraved 18K red gold detailing that brings to life the varied movements of birds and the hatching of eggs. The river in the background appears as if imbued with life, creating a magnificent scene.

This expansive, animated canvas, meticulously engraved and painted by hand, is housed within a 47mm 18K red gold case. It resonates with the chimes of a minute repeater, one of the most intricate complications in watchmaking.

Jaquet Droz draws from the naturalist tradition, breathing life into its automata. In the foreground, a robin, known for its beautiful song and proximity to humans in the Swiss valleys, is depicted.

The farm visible in the background on the right is inspired by the landscape of Pierre Jaquet-Droz's birthplace 300 years ago. To the left of the hours and minutes display flows the River La Suze, winding through the verdant La Chaux-de-Fonds valley. In the foreground, gentians, members of the long-perennial family, bloom vibrantly in the valley. Gentian, known for its dried stems used by watchmakers for final polishing of components, is also a familiar ingredient for the medicinal liqueur produced in the region.

On either side of the bird's nest, the unique natural scenery of La Chaux-de-Fonds unfolds. Alongside red berries and holly leaves, and a deep blue butterfly signaling the arrival of summer, various other animals native to the surrounding environment make an appearance. A dragonfly, symbolizing strength and fighting spirit, and the powerful leap of a grasshopper, represent an attitude of embracing challenges and moving forward without fear of change.
