Two Enamel Dials

The "Atum", the second series from the Grossmann manufacture, is named after the creator of all things in ancient Egyptian mythology.

Adapted from historical precision instruments for the modern era and handcrafted in the Moritz Grossman workshop, the "Atum" embodies all the characteristics of Moritz Grossman's 19th-century timepieces, created using classical techniques.

Based on the "Atum Enamel", a world-limited model that was the first in the series to feature a Grand Feu enamel dial, the "Atum Enamel Japan Limited" is a model that incorporates several special specifications for the Japanese market.

It features two Grand Feu enamel dials, specially ordered from the renowned Swiss manufacturer Donzé Cadran. Seven pieces each in rose gold and white gold were produced in a limited edition.

The rose gold model is paired with a warm, "cream enamel" dial that complements the case color, while the white gold model features an "ivory enamel" dial, a lighter shade than standard white enamel.

To match these enamel dials, all markings on the dial are unified in a brown-violet hue, harmonizing with the unique heat-blued finish of the hands. This creates a classical and mature atmosphere, reminiscent of a pocket watch.

On the hands used in regular models, the "eye of the hand" (the cap) is followed by a weight on the opposite side of the hand's tip. The lancet-shaped minute hand used in this model has this weight section cut away. By stripping away ornamentation from the hands, the beautiful enamel dial surface is allowed to stand out.

The in-house caliber 100.1 can be admired through the sapphire crystal case back. Following the design of pocket watch chronometers, even unseen components such as the deeply set gears of the train wheels and the edges of levers and springs are finished with hand polishing. The regulating organ pursues classical beauty, featuring a specially crafted blue hairspring.

However, within its classical appearance, innovative elements of modern technology are integrated into the mechanism. These include the unique Grossman manual-winding mechanism with a pusher at 4 o'clock that restarts the stop-seconds function, and the Grossman balance wheel designed to minimize air resistance.

The "Atum Enamel Japan Limited" is an enamel watch that combines traditional craftsmanship with innovative modern mechanisms.
