Limited New Version of an Exquisite Triple Time Zone Model
One of Montblanc's major product themes this year is an homage to Vasco da Gama, the Portuguese explorer who discovered the sea route to India at the end of the 15th century, opening the door to the Age of Discovery and world trade. Several new timepieces bearing the name of this great figure were announced in Geneva in January. This particular model is a limited version of an ultra-complex watch featuring a tourbillon and triple time zone mechanism, also unveiled in Geneva.
It features a unique triple time zone mechanism: the local time is displayed by the main hour and minute hands, a second time zone by the compass-shaped hands at the 6 o'clock position, and the current time in 24 cities across the Northern and Southern Hemispheres is indicated by two hemispherical indicators on the left and right of the dial. This is a luxurious complication watch for world travelers, truly befitting the name of Vasco da Gama.

The Popular Perpetual Calendar Model, Now in a Highly Anticipated Skeleton Version
Unveiled in Geneva in January 2014, the perpetual calendar model quickly became a global bestseller, praised for its perfect design balance, timeless classic aesthetic, and reasonable price, earning it the title of "a complication for everyday wear."
A year and a half later, the highly anticipated skeleton version, allowing a view of its intricate mechanism—akin to a mechanical representation of cosmic laws—from both the front and back of the case, has finally been announced in Hong Kong.
Beneath the sapphire crystal, the four subdials displaying the month, leap year, date, day, and moon phase are supported by a transparent dial made of sapphire crystal. However, to accentuate the gold bar indices and subdials, smoked gray sapphire was chosen over colorless transparency.
Furthermore, details like the circular guilloché pattern beneath the moon phase display, allowing for immediate identification of the current month, showcase masterful design. The watch's wearable size, with a case diameter of 39mm and a thickness of 10.24mm, is another key feature. The price for this perpetual calendar skeleton is astonishing.

New Version of the Dual Time Model Bearing the Name of Vasco da Gama
The new "Heritage Chronométrie" collection, unveiled at SIHH in January 2015, featured a case design inspired by the "Pythagore" introduced by the esteemed Minerva in 1950, which was particularly striking.
Among the new collection's offerings, the "Heritage Chronométrie Dual Time" with its dual time zone mechanism, already available in Japan since August, was highly praised by watch connoisseurs.
It is equipped with a blue hour hand for the second time zone, which can be hidden beneath the regular red gold hour hand when not needed. It also features an hour jump mechanism that allows the hour hand to be moved in one-hour increments, making it very user-friendly. At WATCHES & WONDERS, this limited special model, named after Vasco da Gama, was unveiled.
While the functions are the same as the model announced in January, this limited edition features a Southern Hemisphere night sky with the Southern Cross on the day/night indicator synchronized with the home time at 12 o'clock, and a small yet three-dimensional world map depicted in a deep, beautiful blue like the sea on the small seconds subdial at 6 o'clock.
Furthermore, the sapphire of the see-through case back is adorned with an image of the São Gabriel, the flagship of the fleet led by Vasco da Gama.
