2015 is a special year for A. Lange & Söhne. It marks the 200th anniversary of the birth of Ferdinand Adolph Lange, the founder, a master watchmaker, and an entrepreneur who fostered the watchmaking industry in Glashütte. To commemorate this year, a special limited edition model was announced in February, followed by the completion of a new factory in August to coincide with this milestone year. Furthermore, the main collection at WATCHES & WONDERS featured attractive models, including a second series of limited editions celebrating this anniversary year.

Homage Model in Honey Gold
Ferdinand Adolph Lange, who also served as the mayor of Glashütte. On his birthday, February 18th, the first of the 200th anniversary limited edition models was the "1815" with a platinum case and black dial. At WATCHES & WONDERS, the second limited edition model commemorating the 200th anniversary of his birth was unveiled. This model is also the "1815." This time, it features Lange's proprietary gold material, honey-colored gold, for the case, paired with a silver-grey dial.
The beautiful honey-colored gold material is extremely hard and difficult to work with, resulting in very few pieces being manufactured. The 1815 collection, named after the founder Lange's birth year, embodies the simple Glashütte tradition and is the most classic collection. Considering collectors' affection for Lange, the limited production of 200 pieces worldwide is not a large number. Those who can own this model are truly fortunate.

An Eternal Classic Model for Women
It goes without saying that the "Lange 1," or rather the "Little Lange 1," is appealing not only to men but also to women. It is also worth noting that after 20 years since its debut, the Lange 1 has been completely renewed while retaining its style, becoming even more attractive. However, the case size of the new Lange 1 is 38.5mm. A renewed version of the Little Lange 1 may appear in the future. The Long-Awaited Chic Grey Dial Specification
Along with the "Lange 1," the "Saxonia" has been a symbol of the maison's enduring popularity since its revival. With its simple dial featuring a small seconds sub-dial, 3/4 plate, free-sprung balance, hand-engraved balance cock, and swan-neck regulator, it is a classic model that, in its details, inherits the Glashütte style of the pocket watch era even more than the Lange 1.
