New Jewelry Born from a Letter Received by the Wellendorff Family
The Miracle of "Wellendorff" (1)
Wellendorff, a German jewelry brand founded in 1893, is handled in Japan by MIKIMOTO. The new ring, to be unveiled at the MIKIMOTO Main Store on Sunday, September 11th, was inspired by a letter received by the founding Wellendorff family.

Twist the Ring Three Times on Your Finger and Make a Wish...
Wellendorff is characterized by its jewelry, crafted by skilled artisans using traditional handwork methods unchanged since its founding.
Particularly famous are its rings and necklaces. The rings, adorned with vibrant enamel, feature a double structure inspired by a German legend: if you twist the ring three times on your finger while making a wish, it will come true. The central part spins, offering a delightful mechanism.
The necklaces, with a texture reminiscent of fine silk, are hand-woven from gold threads as fine as 0.3 millimeters in diameter. They are characterized by their suppleness and strength, preventing hair from getting tangled.
This new creation features an angel intricately engraved on the inside of the ring. More than just a wish-granting piece, this ring symbolizes the happiness of being protected, the bond with loved ones, and the strength to face adversity.
This ring will be on display at the MIKIMOTO Main Store from Sunday, September 11th, 11:00 AM to 7:00 PM. From Monday, September 12th, it will be available at the MIKIMOTO Main Store, as well as at MIKIMOTO corners in Isetan Shinjuku, Takashimaya Tokyo, and Mitsukoshi Nihonbashi.

The Miracle of "Wellendorff" (2)
To the Wellendorff Family
What I am about to share is an experience I had with a Wellendorff necklace I received as a gift.
My beautiful Wellendorff necklace is tied to a very precious memory. When I received this jewelry, I felt that someone was truly wishing for my happiness. I attached the angel pendant, a gift with the necklace. It must have been my guardian angel.
At the end of February 2010, my home was unfortunately struck by fire. It happened in an instant, and we initially tried to salvage documents, paintings, and clothing. I had my jewelry in a wooden box, but when I opened the room to retrieve it, the space was filled with smoke, making it impossible to enter.
The next day. My jewelry was found. Miraculously, the jewelry retained its charm, despite being engulfed in flames for 12 hours until the fire was completely extinguished.
After this experience, the jewelry took on a completely different meaning for me. It was proof that miracles truly happen. That the Wellendorff necklace with the small angel, which I thought I would never see again among my belongings, had survived the fire was a true blessing in disguise.
The day after the fire, we realized that this must be taken as a lesson. We are grateful that we escaped without injury and that we still had sufficient energy to start everything anew.
I wish to pay tribute to my husband, who showed such courage and strong will amidst the difficulties. He took on everything as if to assure me that as long as I stayed by his side without giving up, I would not despair or be deeply hurt. He gave me a profound sense of security.
I wish to dedicate this experience, which happened to us, to all of you in the Wellendorff family, whom I admire and respect.
