Representing Each Decade of the Monaco's 50-Year History
Born in 1969 as the world's first waterproof automatic chronograph in a square case, the Monaco is an automatic chronograph featuring a blue dial reminiscent of the Monegasque sea and highly legible sub-dials. Even half a century after its debut, it remains a beloved and representative popular model for TAG Heuer worldwide.
The "Monaco 1969–1979 Limited Model" is the first release in a limited collection comprising five Monaco limited models, each designed with inspiration drawn from the trends, colors, styles, and spirits of its respective decade over the 50 years since the icon's inception. This inaugural model was unveiled in Monaco, the principality that inspired its name.
The "Monaco 1969–1979 Limited Model" embodies the geometric shapes symbolic of the 1970s. Its dial, primarily in brown and amber tones, is accented with yellow and features a green Côtes de Genève decoration for depth. This rare timepiece is limited to 169 units worldwide. The case back is engraved with the serial number and "1969-1979 Special Edition," celebrating the first decade of the Monaco's legacy. The remaining four models are scheduled for sequential release.
