IWC and Mercedes-AMG, partners since 2004, have unveiled the new "Pilot's Watch Chronograph Edition "AMG"". This all-around sporty timepiece is equipped with a robust and precise chronograph movement and utilizes materials like Grade 5 titanium and black carbon fiber, also found in racing cars.

Ultra-light titanium case adopted from automotive engineering

The latest collection, the "Pilot's Watch Chronograph Edition "AMG"", has been announced to commemorate the partnership between Swiss luxury watchmaker IWC Schaffhausen and German car manufacturer Mercedes-AMG, which has been in place since 2004. This model features an ultra-light 43mm titanium case, a first for the collection, and a sporty watch with a carbon fiber dial, also used in automotive engineering. Grade 5 titanium is treated to a matte grey, granular texture, inspired by AMG's signature Selenite Grey Magno paint finish.

The precisely woven carbon fiber on the dial is adopted from AMG's aerodynamic components. This material is manufactured through a complex process involving heat and pressure, offering remarkable lightness and rigidity. The raw continuous carbon fiber is processed by looms into a woven structure, finally finished into a distinctive textured black "carbon look," creating a perfect contrast with the silver chronograph sub-dials reminiscent of motorsport instruments.

Functionally, it is powered by the robust and precise IWC-manufactured Caliber 69385, a chronograph movement capable of measuring stop times of up to 12 hours. The chronograph function is controlled by a complex two-tier column wheel. The Mercedes-AMG logo is emblazoned on the colored sapphire crystal case back. The strap is a black embossed calfskin with contrast stitching and a folding clasp, harmonizing with the textile pattern of the dial.

The timepiece was unveiled during a web broadcast featuring Christoph Grainger-Herr, CEO of IWC, Philipp Schiemer, CEO of Mercedes-AMG, and their shared brand ambassador and racing driver, Maro Engel. The conversation touched upon the passion for racing, the shared values of both brands, and the sustainable future of watchmaking and mobility.

The "Pilot's Watch Chronograph Edition "AMG"" is available through the IWC.com online shop, IWC boutiques, and authorized dealers. As part of the My IWC service program, customers can benefit from an extended six-year service on top of the standard two-year international limited warranty.
