BELL & ROSS

VINTAGE BR123 HERITAGE

By Yasuto Shibuya

This year's new three-hand model from the "Vintage BR" series, which symbolizes Bell & Ross, brilliantly captures the allure of cockpit clocks from an era when mechanical timepieces were at the heart of aviation precision instruments, with a refined style on the wrist.Bell & RossThis is the three-hand model of the new "Vintage BR" series, which symbolizes the brand.

The matte black case achieves a unique, understated taste by blast-treating stainless steel with glass beads and then coating it with carbon powder. The dial is also matte black, and the strap is a vintage-inspired light brown, similar to leather straps that typically develop a patina over time. The combination of hands and indices, which glow a bright green in the dark, ensures excellent legibility at all times.
A self-windingchronographversion, "126," with the same basic design is also available.

Self-winding, stainless steel case, 41mm case diameter, ¥304,500, scheduled for release this autumn.

BRAND HISTORY

Founded in 1991 by Bruno Belamich and Carlos A. Rosillo with the theme of "fusion of design and technology." Since then, the company has developed a diverse lineup, including the flagship "Vintage" model, the "Classic" inspired by aviation watches from around 1950, the "Professional" tough watches designed for extreme environments like space and the deep sea, and the "Function" multi-functional watches that embody cutting-edge technology.

Among these, the "Hydromax" from the "Professional" series achieved a water resistance of 11,100 meters, capable of withstanding the deepest part of the Mariana Trench (10,920m), by filling the case with a special hydro oil. This rapidly boosted the recognition of the Bell & Ross name.

In 2005, they also introduced their first square watch, the "BR01." Developed under the concept of "form follows function" by a team of master watchmakers, designers, and professional users, this military-style square watch features a unique structure where the case, which lacks a separate case back, is sealed by a bezel secured with four screws.

Its versatility, including its use as a clock, pendant watch, or even mountable on aircraft cockpit instrument panels, has made it one of Bell & Ross's leading models today.
