Timeless Craftsmanship
The "Only Watch" auction is held every other year with the support of numerous watch brands to raise funds for research into Duchenne muscular dystrophy, a rare and fatal genetic disease that causes progressive muscle weakness and atrophy, leading to death in the teens or twenties.
Renowned as the world's first charity watch auction, each watch brand contributes a unique, special model created exclusively for this event. All proceeds from the auction are donated to the Monegasque Association Against Muscular Dystrophy, supporting medical research aimed at finding a fundamental cure for this devastating illness.
The "L.U.C Tourbillon Only Watch 2013 Edition" is Chopard's contribution to the fifth edition of this auction, held on September 28, 2013. The bridges of the tourbillon movement are adorned with "Frizanne engraving" (fliet decoration), a classical and rare technique from the Fleurier tradition of the Chopard Manufacture, though sadly, very few artisans possess this skill today.
This is a truly unique piece, highly coveted by collectors worldwide.
