Inspiration from Racing Cars

Through its sponsorship of motorsports, Blancpain actively promotes a sporty and dynamic brand image, in addition to its long tradition of watchmaking. Since 2009,Lamborghinihas been a partner, serving as the title sponsor for Lamborghini's prestigious one-make race, the "Lamborghini Blancpain Super Trofeo."

Many of you may recall our coverage on OPENERS of theLamborghini Blancpain Super Trofeo Asia Seriesevent held in Japan.

In 2010, they became the official timekeeper for the "FIA GT1 World Championship," and in 2011, they expanded their presence by becoming the title sponsor of the "Blancpain Endurance Series" and an official partner of the "ADAC GT Masters." The "L-Evolution" collection is the product of this racing-inspired image. While the "L-Evolution Split Seconds Flyback Chronograph," which embodies Blancpain's traditions, was released in the summer of 2012, the newly announced "L-Evolution R Large Date" is the latest model in this collection. It features a carbon fiber dial, and the numerals "9" and "12" on the index are styled in a font reminiscent of racing car numbers.

Furthermore, the font for the big date at the 6 o'clock position has been changed to a digital font. The rotor, visible through the see-through case back, is designed to resemble a car wheel, incorporating numerous details that car enthusiasts will appreciate.
