Expressing Modern Elegance with a Midnight Blue Dial

The Patrimony collection, renowned for its pure and elegant lines, now includes the "Patrimony Extra-Flat Perpetual Calendar" with a new midnight blue dial.

Equipped with Vacheron Constantin's in-house developed and manufactured ultra-thin automatic movement, Caliber 1120 QP, this new model, adorned in a graceful midnight blue, presents an even more pronounced impression of modern sensibility. Caliber 1120 QP displays the time via hour and minute hands, the moon phase (at 6 o'clock), the day of the week (at 9 o'clock) and date (at 3 o'clock) for the perpetual calendar, and the months and leap year within a 48-month cycle (at 12 o'clock).

Praised by watch enthusiasts as one of the most iconic perpetual calendar models currently available, this watch accounts for all irregularities in the calendar and requires no manual correction until March 1, 2100. Unlike an annual calendar, which requires manual date adjustment on the first day of the month following a month with fewer than 31 days, this perpetual calendar calculates the number of days in each month—31, 30, or 28—based on the leap year cycle over four years, and correctly displays even February 29th, which occurs every four years.

Incorporating such a complex perpetual calendar mechanism that mechanically corrects these irregularities into the movement requires an immense miniaturization of the complex architecture, but Vacheron Constantin has succeeded in keeping the movement's thickness to a mere 4.05 mm.

This movement, a testament to exquisite engineering, features a high-end finish that adheres to the highest standards of haute horlogerie, including an open-worked Maltese cross, the symbol of Vacheron Constantin, as the automatic winding rotor.

Furthermore, what adds to the allure of this model is the champlevé enamel decorated moon phase. Its colors are created through extremely precise firing at high temperatures of approximately 1000 degrees Celsius, bringing a beautiful night sky to vivid life. The heart of the movement beats at 2.75 Hz (19,800 vibrations per hour) and offers a power reserve of approximately 40 hours.
