Swiss Native Plants Grown in the Manufacture's Garden Used

As a symbol of H. Moser's commitment to a sustainable society with environmental conservation in mind, the "Moser Nature Watch," featuring Swiss-native plants, was exhibited at SIHH 2019 from January 14th to 17th, 2019.

The watch case and strap incorporate Swiss-native succulents and grass, cultivated by the entire team, including watchmakers and staff, in the Schaffhausen-based H. Moser manufacture's garden. These require watering twice daily and regular care. This model serves to draw attention to the fragility of delicate nature and ecosystems, appealing to each individual's sense of environmental responsibility. The dial, too, is crafted with Swiss-native minerals.

Alongside the creation of this watch, H. Moser has reviewed its operational policies, establishing three guiding principles as a responsible manufacturer in the supply, production, and sale of timepieces. First, to meet the certification requirements of the "Responsible Jewellery Council" within 2019. Second, to use Fairtrade materials whenever possible. In fact, H. Moser has decided to use Fairtrade gold for its new gold collections from 2019 onwards. Third, to offset surplus CO2 emissions by purchasing carbon credits through more efficient methods and processes, guaranteeing zero carbon dioxide emissions in watch manufacturing.

However, H. Moser considers the impact of these three initiatives to be limited outside the watchmaking industry. Therefore, as a primary means of fostering environmental consideration and sustainable development, the company has decided to support "education." H. Moser has partnered with "Room to Read," an NPO dedicated to improving literacy and promoting gender equality in education for children worldwide. A special initiative was launched during SIHH 2019, where H. Moser donated ten children's books for each visitor to the H. Moser booth.
