BULOVA
Adopted by the U.S. military in the 1970s,

What's the story behind the "Devil Diver" nickname?
Founded in America in 1875, Bulova is a watchmaker that has introduced numerous "firsts" to the world.
Perhaps its most famous creation is the "Accutron" tuning-fork watch, released in 1960. While conventional mechanical watches of the time oscillated at 8 beats per second, the Accutron achieved an astonishing 360 beats per second, delivering the highest accuracy of its era with a daily deviation of just 2 seconds. It was even used in 46 NASA space missions, and the shape of its tuning fork lives on today as the brand's logo.
In addition to these historically significant models, Bulova has a history of supplying superior mechanical watches to NASA, the U.S. Air Force, and the Navy throughout its more than 140 years of existence. Since 2016, Bulova has been launching the "Archive Series," which selects iconic Bulova models from its extensive archives and fuses their nostalgic, vintage designs with modern elements.
The "Oceanographer" is the third model to emerge in the Archive Series. Its name signifies "oceanographer." A key feature is the inscription "666 feet" (approximately 200m) on the dial, indicating the watch's water resistance. However, the number 666 led to its affectionate nickname, the "Devil Diver." The cross motif on the dial is also a distinctive design element, giving the watch a unique story where "devil" and "cross" coexist.
The case form, with its gentle curve towards the lugs, and the generously proportioned indices lend it a charming character. The dial comes in two variations: orange (with a white and black bezel) and black (with a red and black bezel). The orange version is a limited edition, with only 666 pieces produced worldwide.
