Oris Achieves Mass Production of Long-Awaited In-House Movement
Introducing Calibre 111
Last year, marking its 110th anniversary, Oris unveiled its long-desired in-house movement, Calibre 110. While the anniversary model was limited to 220 pieces, in 2015, responding to the global demand from fans for in-house movement production, the company succeeded in mass-producing Calibre 111.

The Long-Awaited In-House Movement Commemorating the 110th Anniversary
Calibre 111, the mass-produced version of the in-house movement Calibre 110 announced in 2014, was unveiled in 2015. The key change is the addition of a practical date display. Otherwise, the small seconds at 9 o'clock and the power reserve indicator at 3 o'clock are carried over directly from last year's limited edition model.
The power reserve indicator at 3 o'clock features a non-linear power reserve mechanism. As the remaining power reserve time decreases, the width of the scale increases, and the indicator hand moves faster. This allows for a more accurate grasp of the remaining operating time. This mechanism is a patented Oris technology.
With the mass production in 2015, color variations have also been added. The rose gold case is available with either an ivory or chocolate brown dial. The stainless steel case models come with a choice of silver or charcoal grey dials, resulting in a total of four models being released.
Through the sapphire crystal case back, one can admire Calibre 111, equipped with a large barrel that enables a 10-day power reserve.

A Tribute to a Legendary Jazz Piano Master
This timepiece actually holds a secret. If you look closely at the outer edge of the dial, between the 50-minute and 0-minute markers, you'll find 11 minute indices. Every time you see them, the sound of a piano begins to play in your mind. Yes, the piano of the legendary jazz pianist Thelonious Monk, who absorbed rhythmic fluctuations and dissonances, transforming them into rich, profound music.
The Jazz Collection, which has previously paid homage to artists like John Coltrane and Chet Baker, now welcomes the Thelonious Monk Limited Edition. The pure design of the two-hand watch is enhanced by the beauty of its smoky blue sunray dial.
The case back is engraved with his quote: "MONK ALWAYS KNOW." It is said that during his lifetime, Monk explained that the last word, "KNOW," read backward, spells MONK. This treasure will be delivered in a special wooden box.
