A Romance Told Through Mysterious Mechanisms and Colors

The Palace of Versailles has been a constant source of inspiration for the Maison since the debut collection by founder Christian Dior. High jewelry themed around Versailles has been presented annually since 2016, and the final chapter of this narrative has now been revealed.

The collection was crafted by Victoire de Castellane, Artistic Director of Dior Fine Jewelry. In 2016, she focused on the Palace of Versailles at night, and last year, on the glittering palace and its gardens. For the new "Dior à Versailles, pièces secrètes," she explored the theme of secret passages and private chambers. Through these jewels, legendary intrigues and royal romances unfold.

As Victoire de Castellane explains, "I wanted to use stones with strong contrasts, like faded rose, deep red, iridescent moonstone, and dark sky blue." The collection is characterized by its mysterious palette.

A striking ring featuring a large green gemstone and brilliant diamonds, part of which slides open to reveal a skull motif, a memento mori. It evokes the phantom-like glow of a candle illuminating a secret corridor connecting the king's chambers to his mistress's boudoir.

Another piece reveals a "secret door" beneath a diamond, leading to a new world. Opening a hidden drawer unveils a small jewel box, where lovers' secret letters are carefully kept.

The collection also includes earrings where motifs like the sun, clover, and heart are engraved like emblems on antique jewelry, appearing and disappearing as the piece moves, among other diverse items.
