A Resurgence of Watchmaking Art
When one thinks of high-end watches, Swiss brands often come to mind, but German watchmaking, steeped in craftsmanship, is second to none. In particular, the timepieces from A. Lange & Söhne, which inherit the tradition of royal watchmaking from the Kingdom of Saxony, can truly be called works of art.
The "Lange 1" was introduced in 1994 as the brand's first model upon its revival. Its dial layout alone is captivating, featuring an off-center display for hours and minutes, an outsize date with two discs positioned at 2 o'clock, and a power reserve indicator at 3 o'clock.
Furthermore, the movement showcases a beautiful striped pattern on the distinctive three-quarter plate, and the balance cock is adorned with exquisite engraving. This engraving, done by hand by artisans, makes each piece utterly unique. Thus, the "Lange 1" can be considered a complete work of art, making it a source of pride to wear.

The History of Lange 1
A Watch Symbolizing a Dramatic Revival
A. Lange & Söhne upholds ancient traditions while also possessing a dramatic history.
Due to the division of Germany into East and West during World War II, the brand was forced into a period of dormancy.
With the end of the Cold War and the reunification of Germany, the brand was revived in 1990. The "Lange 1" (pictured right), its first model upon revival, was introduced in 1994.
The "Lange 1" collection symbolizes the brand's dramatic history.

The Lange 1 became the first revival model in 1994.
