“Le Brassus” is a collection of complex mechanical timepieces named after the village where Blancpain’s second manufacture is located. All models feature one or more complications, showcasing a high-quality finish that evokes the traditional watchmaking cultivated over generations.
Among these, the model equipped with a moon phase indicator at 6 o’clock is positioned as the flagship of the collection. The moon phase, which visually represents the lunar cycle of 29.5 days, is also a representative mechanism of traditional mechanical watches. When Blancpain, which had temporarily fallen dormant due to the rise of quartz watches, made a remarkable comeback in 1983, the first models announced were those with moon phase indicators. This connection leads many fans to associate Blancpain with the moon phase.
This model further includes a date display indicated by a crescent-shaped hand at the center, and counters at 12 o’clock to show the "month" and "day of the week." Additionally, a triangular hand for 24-hour indication is set in the center, allowing for a second time zone display by adjusting the time with the crown.
The small seconds are also equipped at the 6 o’clock position, the same as the moon phase, creating a mechanical dial design within the 18K red gold round case.
