BREITLING for BENTLEY

Flying B Chronograph

Text by OPENERS

Following the large-cased rectangular model introduced in 2006, a chronograph version arrived in 2007. The dial features the brand's signature knurled pattern at the center, with elegant mother-of-pearl accents adorning the indices.

This is a model that exudes an uncommon aura, truly reminiscent of a Bentley car. The push-buttons are designed along the case lines, ensuring a comfortable press.

Despite its generous dimensions of 58.2mm in height and 38.5mm in width, the gently curved lugs provide excellent stability when worn. Self-winding chronometer. 28,800 vibrations per hour. 42-hour power reserve. Case thickness: 16.7mm. Stainless steel case. Crocodile strap. ¥1,575,000. Scheduled for release in Autumn 2007.

BRAND HISTORY

The partnership between the esteemed Swiss watchmaker "Breitling" and the prestigious British automobile manufacturer "Bentley" began with their collaboration in 2002. Their first joint venture was the adoption of a Breitling dashboard clock in the instrument panel of Bentley's renowned sports coupe, the "Continental GT."

From the following year, Breitling started producing timepieces inspired by Bentley's classic cars, as a separate line from their own collections. Thus, Breitling for Bentley was born, a fusion of two titans from the skies and the road.

The brand's collections feature distinctive models such as the "Bentley Motors," equipped with a high-speed chronograph mechanism that completes a dial revolution in 30 seconds; the "Bentley GT," with its metallic dial; and the "Bentley 6.75," which incorporates a big date and chronograph function.

With meticulous attention to detail, including knurling on the bezel inspired by Bentley car grilles and intricate decoration on the case back, these robust timepieces garner significant attention not only from watch enthusiasts but also from automotive aficionados.

Furthermore, in 2005, two complication models featuring a perpetual calendar and tourbillon were released, followed by the "Flying B," a non-chronograph rectangular watch, in 2006. The brand gradually established its unique identity, becoming recognized as a distinct entity separate from Breitling.

In 2007, the "Flying B" collection was expanded, further solidifying the substantial and luxurious styling that is characteristic of Bentley cars.
