Bold Colors Shape Understated Style

The Navitimer is Breitling's most iconic timepiece. Certified as the official watch of the International Organization of Master Pilots (AOPA) in 1954, it quickly became synonymous with pilot's watches. Favored by airline captains and aviation enthusiasts, its functionality and reliability are highly regarded within the industry.
In 1962, it journeyed to space on the wrist of astronaut Scott Carpenter, extending its reach beyond Earth. Furthermore, its adoption by cultural icons such as jazz legend Miles Davis and songwriter Serge Gainsbourg solidified the Navitimer's status as a watch that masterfully blends function and style.
The new Japan Edition retains the Navitimer's classic characteristics while incorporating refinements for contemporary lifestyles. The adoption of a flattened slide rule and a domed sapphire crystal results in a slimmer profile than previous models. The interplay of polished and satin finishes on the metal surfaces creates a look that is both lustrous and elegantly understated.
Most striking is the unified black treatment across the dial, subdials, and the outer circumference of the slide rule. This bold monochromatic scheme imbues the entire watch face with a chic and sophisticated aura. The bezel is rendered in red gold, complemented by gold-toned accents on the emblem, hands, and indices, further enhancing its elegant presence.
The case measures 41mm, an exquisite size that perfectly showcases the refined interplay of black and gold. It possesses a subtle elegance that resonates with Japanese aesthetics, lending a substantial yet sophisticated impression to the wrist. Despite its compact dimensions, it makes a distinct statement.
The movement is the Breitling Caliber 01, a manufacture movement that has earned COSC chronometer certification, the highest standard for precision and reliability. The sapphire crystal case back offers a view of the meticulously finished movement within.
Furthermore, the case back is engraved with "SPECIAL EDITION," signifying its status as a limited model.
This limited edition, adorned in a sophisticated palette of black and gold, is a masterpiece that reinterprets the Navitimer's traditional functional beauty through a contemporary lens. Its understated yet captivating presence is sure to resonate with the Japanese sensibility.
