A Unique Radiance Born from Natural Materials

The history of Breitling's signature model, the Navitimer, dates back to 1952. At that time, Willy Breitling developed a chronograph with a slide rule, enabling pilots to perform flight calculations on their wristwatches. This model was certified as the official timepiece of the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association (AOPA), giving birth to the name "Navitimer," a portmanteau of "navigation" and "timer."

Since then, the Navitimer has been cherished as the standard for pilot watches by aviators and aviation enthusiasts alike. However, it wasn't just those in the aviation industry who were captivated by this watch's allure.

Celebrities of the era, such as jazz legend Miles Davis and French singer-songwriter Serge Gainsbourg, also favored the Navitimer, proving it to be not merely an instrument but a timepiece that perfectly blended function and style.

The standout feature of this Japan-exclusive model is its all-black finish, combining a black mother-of-pearl dial with black subdials. The mystical shimmer of natural mother-of-pearl creates a deep and unique expression. This characteristic luster, achievable only with this material, imbues the watch with unparalleled individuality.

On the dial, unified in a black monotone, gold-colored hands and indices are set, highlighting delicate details. The contrast with the mother-of-pearl dial, which possesses a unique expression due to its natural origin, brings a sense of elegance, presence, and distinctiveness.

The case size is 43mm.Previous Japan EditionWhile the case size has been increased compared to the 41mm of a previously released Japan-exclusive model, the streamlined appearance achieved through the silver and black color scheme makes the size difference barely noticeable.

The movement housed within is Breitling's in-house manufactured chronograph movement, Caliber 01. Through the sapphire crystal case back, one can admire the intricate and beautiful workings of the meticulously assembled movement. The watch is finished to showcase the maison's craftsmanship from every angle, front and back.

The "Navitimer B01 Chronograph 43 Japan Edition," which merges the mystical radiance of the black mother-of-pearl dial, the elegant contrast woven by gold-colored accents, and the 70-year legacy of the Navitimer, can be considered an all-rounder watch suitable for both collectors and daily wear.
