Dive watches are among the most popular types of timepieces. Blancpain developed the world's first modern dive watch, considered the progenitor of all dive watches, and released it in 1953. N.HOOLYWOOD, which recently held its first show in Tokyo in about eight years, once again demonstrated its prowess. Daisuke Obana, the designer behind N.HOOLYWOOD, a brand with immense popularity in the fashion scene and high acclaim in New York, is a devoted owner of Blancpain's "Fifty Fathoms MIL-SPEC 1." He acquired this vintage model from the 1960s about a year and a half ago. We asked Mr. Obana what draws him to the "Fifty Fathoms."

Vol. 3 Blancpain 2018 New Releases Highlight
Blancpain's 2018 offerings were notable for their high-quality daily complication models. These timepieces combine the enjoyment and mechanical intrigue of mechanical watches with the durability and practicality needed for everyday life. We introduce four new models: the "Fifty Fathoms Large Date" with a large date mechanism, the "Fifty Fathoms Bathyscaphe Annual Calendar" featuring an annual calendar, the "Villeret Complete Calendar GMT" with an under-lug corrector, and the "Villeret Large Date Retrograde Day" displaying the date via a large date and the day of the week via a retrograde indicator.
