The protagonist, Riggan, who achieved immense fame with the fictional superhero film "Birdman" and is now struggling to make a comeback on the Broadway stage, is played by Michael Keaton, the original "Batman." At Iñárritu's earnest request, the casting of a former superhero as the protagonist, blurring the lines between reality and fiction, became a reality.

The cast also includes Edward Norton, who appeared in the comic book adaptation "The Incredible Hulk," and Emma Stone from "The Amazing Spider-Man," bringing together actors with ties to superhero films. Esteemed actors like Naomi Watts also lend their support.

What Did the "Former Birdman," at Rock Bottom, See Between Reality and Fantasy?

Twenty years after the film series ended, Birdman remains a beloved superhero worldwide. However, Riggan, who became a star playing Birdman, has not had subsequent hit films, has failed in his personal life, and is living in despair.

Determined to make a comeback, Riggan adapts Raymond Carver's "What We Talk About When We Talk About Love," and attempts to direct and star in a Broadway production. However, his existence is threatened by Mike, a talented actor who steps in as his understudy, and his communication with his daughter falters, deepening their rift. Moreover, the phantom of "Birdman," whom he thought he had left behind, appears before him, tormenting him.

The universal desire to be loved resonates deeply. Alongside its groundbreaking visual style, we are eager to witness the form of love this flawed man discovers amidst the interplay of reality and fantasy.
