A Husband Dedicated to Research Despite Illness, a Wife Who Supports Him Fully

The two met in 1963 when Stephen was a graduate student at Cambridge University. Stephen was drawn to Jane's intelligence as she studied poetry, and Jane was captivated by his dreamy grey eyes and sense of humor. They fell instantly in love.

However, shortly thereafter, Stephen was diagnosed with motor neuron disease and given only two years to live. Nevertheless, Jane chose to live with him, deciding to face the illness together.

Their married life became a continuous effort to extend their remaining time, from two years to five, then to ten, and then to twenty. While Stephen dedicated himself to research with Jane's support, building his status as a scholar, Jane bore the weight of supporting her husband and raising their children. New challenges constantly arose for the couple as they lived each day to the fullest.

The real Stephen and Jane Hawking divorced in 1991, after 26 years of marriage. However, their deep connection continues today in the form of friendship. Their "theory" of facing life's challenges hand-in-hand, overcoming their prognosis, and achieving great things, touches our hearts.
